Joint Noises Explained

This is a basic video that will help explain why you get noises such as popping and clicking sometimes when you are eating or when you open your jaw extremely wide.  Repeated night-time Grinding, Clenching, or other repeated Microtraumas to the joint can induce a laxity in the Discal Ligaments. Normal, healthy joint ligaments do not allow any looseness or laxity in the adherence of the Articular Disc to the Condylar Head of the lower jaw. Ligaments that have elongated allow movement of the disc.
